Praises

 

M & L Sabbath Year has finished.  They have the strong sense that God was saying to not return to previous job. 

So L is prayerfully considering some new options:

  • Volunteering with a hospital chaplain,
  • Ministering with music to women and children in the hospital.
  • Learning and re-learning Arabic.
  • Possibility of part time work doing music therapy with children. And,
  • Keep praying for how to walk well with Sakeena.

M has set out to start a new business, and not have income until there’s paying customers.  What I really wanted to do was to do something more “integrated” in the region where I live.  Although I’ve shared about feelings of stress about the new business direction, there’s also some things that have really encouraged me and I hold on to them.  Make the long story short, a Muslim friend, after reading the Book of Gospel, explained to my other two Muslim friends about Jesus raised from the death which is directly against what Muslim teachers teach.

 

Prayers
  • We always appreciate prayer for our kids. They, like many their age, are adjusting to the new school year.
    • Kayla (age 19), started her 2nd year university in Ontario. She found a student house and is living off-campus (including, the new life phase of cooking all her own meals)
    • Abby (age 16), in grade 11. She just started the “IB” program which will be her final 2 years of high school
    • Keira (age 14), in grade 9 — now in high school.
    • Ethan (age 10), in grade 5.
      • We pray for whole health for them, including mental, emotional, and spiritual
      • For their friendships; surrounded by good friends, and also used by God to be good friends
  • Please pray for Sakeena’s walk with Jesus, and Brenda’s wisdom in walking with her
    • L’s mom after the surgery for her hip
    • L’s time this year to be God glorifying and fruitful (language learning, ministry/work opportunities)
  • M’s work:
    • Finding local partners and customers and income, meeting new people, and God-stories to encourage this more risky path!
    • A chance to be able to start partnering with Muneer sometime in the coming year.
