“It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established as the highest of mountains…and all the nations shall flow to it…” Isaiah 2:2  

      The prophet Isaiah speaks of a time when God will establish his house. Since it will be on the highest of mountains, it is the pinnacle and the most visible and beautiful place one can see in the land. What makes this particular place even more special is that God makes his dwelling there. It is His house. God is present, active and moving there.  

      It is a house that is elevated above humankind in a way that people are drawn to it. They see the beauty of it because the presence of God is there, and they are calling others to join them as they flock to it.  

      When Isaiah wrote these words, they were still looking forward to a time when a coming King, a Messiah would establish this house. However, for us today, we have seen Him for he has already come.  

      Christ has already established his house on the mountain. And as the Church, we are the people who have seen this Word of the LORD come from Jerusalem, and have seen the pinnacle of God’s glory in Christ.

      Romans 8:11 “If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.” Isaiah says God’s going to establish his dwelling place, but then in the New Testament, we find that the Spirit has made his dwelling place in us.

      In other words, we don’t have to wait for God’s dwelling place to appear on a mountain, because in Jesus and through the power of the Spirit of Christ that He has sent into our hearts, God’s dwelling place is right here in you and me if you have been called and saved by the life, death and resurrection of Christ Jesus.  

      God has established his dwelling place in our hearts. In Advent, we now wait to see it fulfilled in all its glory in His eternal Kingdom.

「末後的日子，耶和華殿的山必堅立，超乎諸山，高舉過於萬嶺，        萬民都要流歸這山。」 以賽亞書2:2

       先知以賽亞指出神將建立自己的殿；這殿將矗立於山巔之上，既是頂峰就必然是人們在地土上皆能看到最美麗之處。而令這個殿更加獨特的就是上帝居住在其中。這是祂的居所，神在其中，往來行走。  

       這殿超越一切，高聳其上，吸引萬民歸向它。人們看到它美麗之處是因為那裡有神的同在，人就起來召喚其他人一同擁進殿中。    

       當以賽亞寫下這些說話時，他們仍然期待著君王即將來臨的時刻，就是那位要建立這殿宇的彌賽亞。然而，對於我們今天來說，我們已經見過祂，因祂已然降臨。

       主基督已經在山上建立了祂的居所。作為祂的教會，我們就是那些看見主道成肉身從耶路撒冷出來的人，並且看到了神在基督裡榮耀的頂峰。       

       羅馬書8:11「然而叫耶穌從死裡復活者的靈，若住在你們心裡，那叫基督耶穌從死裡復活的，也必藉著住在你們心裡的聖靈，使你們必死的身體又活過來。」以賽亞說神將要建立祂的居所，然而在新約聖經中，我們曉得聖靈已經在我們裡面居住。

       換言之，我們不必等待神的居所出現在山上，因為假若在耶穌裡，神已經呼喚你，你因基督的降生﹑受死和復活已經得贖，藉著基督所賜予我們聖靈的能力，神已經居住在你和我的心裡。

      神已經在我們的心裏建立了祂的居所。在這將臨節期，我們期盼著在祂永恆的國度中祂的榮耀得以滿足。
